MATERIAL HIGHLIGHT PA-CF

PA-CF is characterized by high rigidity and strength. The carbon fibers it contains significantly increase the mechanical strength and rigidity compared to pure polyamide. This property is particularly advantageous for dynamically loaded components. Another advantage is the lower thermal expansion. Due to the reinforcement with carbon fibers, the material warps significantly less when the temperature changes, which makes it ideal for precision parts. PA-CF also has good temperature resistance. Depending on its composition, it is heat-resistant up to around 150 to 180 °C and can therefore also be used in heat-stressed applications. Its chemical resistance is also a major advantage.

The material is resistant to oils, greases, fuels and many other chemicals, which makes it suitable for use in demanding environments.

Compared to pure polyamide, PA-CF absorbs significantly less water. The carbon fibers reduce moisture absorption, which improves the dimensional stability of the material. Despite its high strength , PACF is lighter than metallic materials. This makes it particularly attractive for applications in lightweight construction, for example in the automotive or aviation industries. Finally, PA-CF offers high dimensional stability. Its low shrinkage and low susceptibility to warping make it ideal for technical components with tight tolerances.

The innovatiQ FDM printers are equipped with specially hardened nozzles that are characterized by low abrasion. They are therefore particularly suitable & efficient, even for extensive use of PA-CF.
