Filament - Owens Corning_XSTRAND® PP GF30

Worth knowing

Another fiberglass-reinforced filament is Owens Corning® XSTRAND® PP GF 30, which is based on the polymer PP and thus has similar material properties. The filament is particularly impressive due to its high strength, which is up to 200% higher than that of high-quality ABS. This makes this reinforced PP a promising material for the production of mechanical parts. In addition, the filament scores with good chemical and UV resistance. The low moisture absorption also simplifies storage.

However, its abrasive property should be noted. Due to this, the use of a hardened nozzle is recommended. Nevertheless, good printability is given, as the excellent layer bonding property of this filament reduces the risk of warping effect compared to pure PP.

Sports and leisure sector, medical technology e.g. prosthesis construction and components for wheelchairs, transportation technology, industrial and tooling technology.
